Campus Ministry September and October Events
We have had an awesome start to Campus Ministry this year…
*Collectively, students, staff, and parents logged over 350
hours renovating the chapel. Pews were sanded and stained, walls were painted,
and carpet was removed.
*We are so grateful for the many donations to our new Campus
Ministry Center of coffee, snacks, videos and furniture.
*Thus far we have had the juniors peer-lead the annual
freshmen retreat and the seniors peer-lead the annual sophomore retreat.
*We began a year-long commitment to weekly service and
ministry of serving dinner to the elderly at New Horizons. Though this is a
Campus Ministry event, alternating members of Trinity Staff will chaperone four
students every Wednesday.
*Campus Ministry sent a team of 18 students to help clean up
at the Bishop’s Reception at Saint Pius X.
*Trinity celebrated our Lasallian Founder with a special
Mass in honor of Saint John Baptiste de Lasalle on Friday, September 8th.
*On September 9, Campus Ministry hosted a Freshmen Mixer at
Lakeside Lanes for the entering freshmen to get to know one another a little
better.
*On September 11, we began a program called “Manic Mondays”
wherein Campus Ministry will stay open on any normal scheduled day and offer
snacks, refreshment, games, and an atmosphere of fellowship for any student
wishing to participate until 5pm.
*On September 13, we had our Opening Liturgy and kicked-off
our annual Food Drive to support NH Food Bank and Catholic Charities.
*On September 17, members of the hockey team set up, the
girl’s soccer team ran the face painting booths, and the football team broke
down the annual Saint Anthony’s Parish Picnic for father Richard Dion.
*On September 22, freshmen will attend their second mixer at
SkyZone of Manchester.
*On the weekend of September 23-24, Mr. Thibodeau will join
10 students in cleaning up Louden as a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity.
Looking ahead, to October we have a plethora of events to
look forward to in addition to our weekly Manic Monday, Wednesday service at
New Horizons and Families in Transition…
*October 3, we will celebrate God’s creatures with the
Blessing of the Animals on the front lawn.
*October 5, we will have new carpet installed in the chapel
for weekly Mass.
*October 6, we will have an all school Mass and present the
Sophomores with rosaries.
*On October 14, we have a day of mini-golf, lunch, and fun
planned at Legends Golf in Hooksett.
*October 16, Campus Ministry is sponsoring a Blood Drive and
we will begin weekly class Mass in the
chapel.
*October 17, students
have signed up to play games with residents of St Teresa’s nursing home.
*ALSO on October 16-17, THS juniors and seniors will
peer-lead retreats for saint Joseph Regional Junior High.
*On October 18, ten students (3 seniors, 3 juniors, two
sophomores, and two freshmen) are going to visit the LaSalle Academy in Rhode
Island with Mr. Mailloux and Ms. Zolkos
*October 26, Campus Ministry will host their annual trunk or
Treat event.
We are also looking forward to our annual Thanksgiving Basket
Drive for local parishes and sleeping bag drive for homeless Veterans in
November.
